Nikki's West - Birmingham, AL - Nikki's is the place to go in Birmingham for your standard "Meat & Three".  They serve over a thousand customers a day at lunch.  Sometimes more.  Just don't wear your "hair rollers on your head" as the sign says when you walk in.  Don't worry if the line looks long, you'll be through really fast.  Also, if you don't know what you want when you get up to the line, they'll skip you. Seriously.

China Cafe - Pelham, AL - Birmingham's best kept secret for Chinese food. Best bet is the Sunday lunch (but we like it on other days that end in Y also).  Fights have been known to break out over their Terriyaki Chicken Wings.  Also, for great pizza and even better calzones, try Cafe Trentuno next door!

Another Broken Egg - Sandestin, FL - great breakfast when you are at the beach!  Say hello to our friend Chris while you'll there.

Muriel's - Jackson Square, New Orleans - Ridiculously good bread pudding.  That's reason enough to go here!  Best bet for a table? Go during a Saints game or Hornets game when everyone is at the SuperDome.

Smokey Pig BBQ - Columbus, GA - This place is a real BBQ joint.  Get the sandwich, outside lean cut, cubed.  Yum.

Country's BBQ - Columbus, GA - They have fine BBQ but the best thing on the menu is their fried chicken breasts.  They make a mean blue cheese dressing too.

Full Moon BBQ - Birmingham, AL - probably the best BBQ in Birmingham.  Owned by friends of ours.  Go see Chase at the Trussville location.  Rumor is that former Healthsouth CEO Richard Scrushy has their half-moon cookies sent to his jail cell.

The Checkerboard - Meridian, MS - Used to be the restaurant that was in the famous (but now closed) Red Hot Express truck stop.  The food is awesome, but the deserts are junk - don't save room for it.  The fried green tomatoes and the spaghetti are not to be missed.

Pancake Pantry - Nashville, TN - When you finally get a table, you'll know why the line was wrapped around the block. For some strange reason, their website is only for their Gatlinburg, TN location.  Maybe they should call us.  We'd take payment in delicious hot pancakes.

The Stray Dog - Birmingham, AL & Dallas, TX - A gourmet sausage dog sold from a hot dog cart.  Pork heaven on a roll - covered with onions and peppers and goat cheese.  That's the Luca Bratzi.  Get one.
